Good Friday Worship Space

  • Riverwalk Church Office 39 Harvard Street, 2FL Brookline, MA 02445 United States (map)

You’re invited to gather for contemplative worship and reflection this Good Friday.

Where: 39 Harvard Street, Floor 2 (sign says “Highrock Brookline Church Office”
When: Friday, March 29, 7 PM**
**The church office will be open earlier, from 4 PM onwards, if you wish to use it as a quiet space for reflection and contemplation!

We will have a worship service/space at the church office starting at 7 PM, with songs, scripture readings, and moments for reflection and prayer. There will also be visual art and physical elements with which to engage our different senses.

It will be in the style of a Tenebrae service, which might be a different worship service experience from what we typically know! Tenebrae comes from the Latin word meaning “shadows.” The Tenebrae has been observed in the church of Jesus Christ since the fourth century. On Good Friday, as the sun sets and the evening falls, we remember the death of Jesus and recall his seven last words on the cross.

The hope is to give us space to engage with the meaning and experience of Jesus’ death on the cross. We hope you will join us!
