Ash Wednesday Morning Prayer (Zoom)

Ash Wednesday is the doorway into these 40 days leading us toward Easter—a season traditionally marked by reflection, repentance, and returning to God. It’s a time when we allow the Lord to gently call us back—heart, mind, and body—to the path of life in Christ. Lent refocuses our attention on Jesus, who is both the way we walk and the goal toward which we’re headed.

On Ash Wednesday, we remember a simple and grounding truth: “We are dust, and to dust we shall return.” Receiving ashes on our foreheads in the shape of a cross reminds us that we are human—limited, fragile, and deeply loved. It invites us to surrender our days to the Lord and to acknowledge our complete dependence on God’s grace and mercy.

We pause long enough to remember what is true:
We are not infinite.
We have limits.
We are not as permanent as we sometimes pretend.

And yet—we are loved without limit by an infinite God.

We will offer a brief Zoom morning prayer gathering and stillness moment at 7:00 AM on Wednesday to begin the day—and the season—together. Whether you join us online or observe the day at home, we encourage you to enter Lent with intention. Ashes will be available for pickup this Sunday, February 15, to use personally or with your small group.

Lent begins as it always begins—with honesty, humility, and hope.

If you are weary, come.
If you are grieving, come.
If you are carrying more than you can hold, come.
If you simply want to begin this season with intention, come.

Let’s walk this road toward Easter—together.
